They went out of their way to help me with all my needs. I had some special needs, l like needing to coordinate delivery of an oxygen concentrator.
There is coffee/tea on the first floor till 10.
The lobby is very inviting and a nice place to sit and regroup while exploring San Francisco.
The hotel is one block from the 38 bus, which is a major line.
The beds were very comfortable.
We had the two double beds with view. The view was nice of the hillsides
I can't think of anything I didn't like.

Nice clean comfortable rooms, friendly service. The attached restaurant, Jaspers was EXCELLENT for breakfast - the manager waited on us and he was wonderful!
The parking structure next door was convenient, but as is common in SF incredibly expensive and the daily price seemed to fluctuate based on the mood of the workers.

The staff on the reception were very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious, clean, with a very comfy bed. The location of the hotel was ideal. Easily able to walk around the city. Close to the metro station and restaurants etc.
Breakfast had very limited options. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room, although available in the reception between 06.00-10.00. Decor was quite dated. Jasper's bar/eatery closed quite early around 20.30.

I usually clean all hotel rooms I visit before settling in and let me tell you, not one of my cleaning wipes came out stained or anything. Every wipe was SPOTLESS. I was very very impressed!
The property inside was beautiful and very clean. The only downside is the outside environment of the building. There was lots of fecal matter outside in the front of the building or beside it. Which, to be fair, is not the hotels fault, more of the people who roam outside. But, they do have security guards at the front of the building and you have to scan your hotel room card to get in and that made us feel safer and at ease!

The location was not terrible, but it was borderline near an area of the city that was full of homeless people who made the streets nearby dirty.

Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs!
Our stay at this hotel was an absolute nightmare. We arrived at 8:30 PM to check-in, excited to celebrate both my 40th birthday and my daughter’s 5th birthday. However, when we arrived, they couldn’t find our reservation in the system. The front desk attendant, Anna, was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of addressing our issue promptly, she proceeded to check in three other couples before even bothering to involve management.
After making us wait for what felt like forever, Anna informed us there were no available rooms—despite having a confirmed booking. This left us with no choice but to search the streets of San Francisco at 9 PM with our exhausted 4-year-old in tow. Needless to say, it was an extremely stressful and frustrating situation.
We will never return, and we strongly recommend others avoid this hotel.

Great location for me and my family, I was able to walk around a lot to get to most of the places I wanted to go. If needed a car, uber was always available and at the door in a heartbeat. Loved the smell of the lobby.

Beautiful historic building. Jasper’s is a decent restaurant too.
The AC did not work in either of the rooms we were put in. A separate friend’s room at the property also did not have an AC that functioned. Bed was a little hard.

This is really great place to stay. I accidentally booked wrond room for handicap but got free exchange. Staff at reastaurant were very friendly and helpfull, especially Maria - special thanks. Breakfasts are very teasty, drink bar at the lobby. Also we got kettle into our room by request - it was very great due closed restaurant in late evening. Hope come back to SF again and stay here.
In this part of the city, there are a lot of strange people on the street, which we weren't used to seeing in such numbers at home. This is a characteristic of this area, where there are many hotels. But inside the hotel, everything was quiet, thanks to the security.
One time, filtered water wasn't available near the lobby because the filter needed maintenance. But it's great that the hotel has filtered water available.
I'd also like to point out that Anna was very cool to our requests, but nothing more. Perhaps this is due to a biased attitude towards Russians, or perhaps it's just my imagination. In any case, despite the hotel being a bit rundown, it has a great team, and we really enjoyed it.

the location is not great. but we took Ubers everywhere as they are cheap in San Francisco and then hired a car and the car park is next door. so didnt matter that much.

While the hotel can't do anything about it, the general area around the hotel is less desirable, its not unsafe but walking to public transport was miserable.
car parking in the area is expensive, but that's city parking, the valet parking next door is recommended by the hotel but is quite expensive and poorly reviewed.

The beautiful dual aspect room with Autumn sun on our bed solving jet lag AND the superb design of the foyer and artworks.
Discovering that Spero Hotel Vignette do NOT have CONTRACTS for their employees in these very unstable times - I assured the Unite Here Local2 group demonstrating outside, that I supported them and would not stay at the Spero again until they respected their employees with proper contracts.

Good value accomodation in a very central location. Room was well appointed and clean. Loved the historical detailing throughout the hotel.
Very minor but it would be better if you pop the wifi password on a card in the room? We had to look for it and only got it when we went to ask reception.

The staff were all so kind and friendly especially Kathyrn who checked us in. She even upgraded our room to 2 beds instead of the 1 with no extra charges. She was very informative of what side of the streets we should avoid. The location is also very convenient to get around to places. I was only here for 3 nights, but was able to squeeze all sorts of sightseeing on my bucket list. Definitely will be coming back!

Our tv wasn't working but maintenance came right away and took care of the problem. The view was spectacular.
Booking.com said the hotel had its own parking for a fee but the hotel didn't have parking. Luckily there was public parking close by. It was challenging to get all the bags into the hotel.

We were there for 4 nights. In that time we were moved 3 time. First night we had bug bites! Second night/move was because the room was under the heating and air equipment. The room was so loud we couldn’t sleep plus we were so itchy from the bug bites (the manager insisted we didn’t get the bites there) the 3rd room was bigger- but the view was walls and equipment. It had a rain shower faucet (didn’t work) so I had to use the hand held shower head. A huge part of that faucet fell off and hit my head. It about knocked me unconscious. I asked to fill out an accident report. They don’t have any. Worst stay ever. Homeless everywhere. To top it off the housekeeping staff was on strike. The bullhorns they were yelling in were incredibly loud! Don’t stay here!
Horrible bites I got and the huge goose egg I got on my head from the shower head breaking and hitting my in the head. Noises and homeless was awful!!!
