All the facilities you need, although I was in a dorm room, with the capsule beds you have a lot of privacy and can relax whenever you want. Kitchen, fridge were also a big plus. Bathroom was huge. Complementary coffee. Artsy vibe. Location was great too, very close to bus stations and generally felt pretty safe on the streets nearby. But be careful if walking down towards tenderloin, on my bus ride back to the airport early morning looked extremely sketchy with homeless and drug addicts everywhere. But next to hostel was fine, just be careful. For the price and central location it's more than you can ask for. One of the best hostels I've stayed at.

I had a room to share only with one more female and that was really great. Much better than usual dorms. We had each one side of the room and desk with lamp for each as well as one fridge and sink in the room. In the pod you have some USB plugs, light and privacy shutter. Bed was really comfortable. There was tea and coffee available next to reception as well as some bananas and apples. There is microwave and water dispenser. Paper cups and plates are provided. Toilets have the paper disposable liners. You can borrow hairdryer from reception. Location is really good with short walk to transport.

They have not informed me (and any other guest I have spoken to) that part of the hotel is under renovation and that there is no common area available or breakfast served. Most of staff members gave you a feel like they don't want to be there. They were helpful but not very welcoming. Bathrooms were almost always busy and there were not many of them for the number of people staying. Some were not working...

The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. When we had to leave early, the front of house staff were understanding and helped us through the process. Friendliest staff ever! The rooms were very clean and the shared bathrooms were surprisingly lovely. We were put in the Greenday room which we loved.

Nothing they can change but Tenderloin isn’t the best area as a tourist. There are a lot of houseless people, who are all fine and pose no danger, but you will probably see some weird stuff especially if you go out at night. Nothing dangerous but can be off putting if you’re not used to it.

Check in was easy (I actually was able to check in very early) and the room was very quiet. The capsules created a nice sense of privacy. I got a concert the first night I stayed which was a nice surprise with dinner, and I loved the hallways lined with all the pictures and quotes. Also fun to have the cable car only two blocks away. I bought a three MuniMobile pass and road it to my heart's content.

I wish I had brought a sleep sack because the bedding was too warm for me and the fan in the capsule could not do enough to cool down the space. I wish the capsule had a regular plug instead of USB ports for electronic safety and so I could charge my laptop (the desk area was always full of other people's items). The mattress was starting to break down so hopefully those get replaced soon.

Easy going place. Good connection to the public transportation. The combination with the venue is really nice. Just having the option to listen to music in the evening.

Would have loved to have some more hangers for wet towels or jackets. Would be space for it in the sleeping boxes. For the lockers a bigger lock is needed, so don’t bring the smallest one you have and most probably would attach to a travel bag.

The capsules offer some privacy which is great. The free coffee was great, and the WiFi decent.

The restrooms were smelling a bit and did not feel clean at times. The mattress has also seen better times, it was pretty thin in the middle.

- Impressively clean, especially bathrooms - Privacy of bathrooms - they were individual, and were on a corridor rather than attached to the dorm rooms - The privacy offered by the "pods" as well as their relative spaciousness. I don't like the thought of strangers being able to see me when I'm asleep so this was perfect for me - Fridge, sink and desk in dorm were really handy. I had a four-bed room which was cosy but not cramped. My room mates were nice and respectful - The area was fine as long as you didn't go south into the Tenderloin (which is awful in terms of the number of homeless/addicts/mentally ill, I strongly suggest you avoid it, as well as the Civic Centre). I just walked north up to Nob Hill, into China Town and North Beach etc and had a great day exploring

- The mattresses! They were really bad, so thin and unsupportive. If they could replace them with something more comfortable, this would be a great place to stay. I'm still giving it a relatively high score overall because I paid 35 euros a night (think this may have been a special deal on Booking, not sure if it's the standard price) so the place does offer value for money and I felt comfortable there. - The corridors don't smell great, they need to work out a way to really air the place out.

In general, hostel is nice. No elevator to 2nd floor, but there is a handy room with a microwave, hot water, and coffee. I can compare a 4-bed room and 2-bed room, so 2-beds is the best as it offers you more space and a private desk. 4-bed room is tiny, with no space for your luggage. No elevator to the 2nd floor. Restrooms are outside the rooms, but I was lucky always to find a free one.

Loved the complimentary good quality coffee and different flavour of teas, and not sour apples. The bananas were gone very quickly. Half and half cream constantly disappeared. Sometimes teas were empty because people use them or took too much extra bags. Loved the 24-hour common room that people could hang out and chat and not disturb roommates. The sleeping pods were great and liked the mini fridge in my room. Liked that it was a clean place. The music was sometimes good and put me in a better mood. I didn't used the basement practice room that guests could use for two-hours. There's supposed to be discounts to things or free tour but I didn't take advantage of them this time.

The hostel is located by Tenderloin, where it is unsafe area that homeless people, people with mental illnesses, drug users, etc. hang out. You feel extremely uncomfortable walking through the area at night alone. There were broken glass on sidewalks from vehicles smashed and broken into. You have to get back into the hostel before sunset for personal safety. Some homeless people also stayed at the hostel, heard (unconfirmed) that other hostels had more homeless people staying there and were more dirty. Steps going up to the next floor were dangerous tripping hazard because they were uneven. The mini bottles of shampoo and body wash were too little for a long stay and also not so great quality. Didn't liked that housekeeping kept throwing things out that were not garbage, it was frustrating. They could not speak English and I didn't speak Spanish to tell them not to throw things away. Surprised there was no place to cook food. Didn't liked that there was no one who knew which streets to avoid, where the steep hills were to avoid, and how to walk to places. Not everyone is rich to use Uber/Lyft/taxi. It was very loud when they played music or live shows downstairs that you couldn't hear people in the common room you were talking to. It did not helped my disability. Washrooms were constantly full of water on the floor, the lights would go off while you showered, and there were no hooks to hold your clothes or purses/bags. The shower stalls were very tight. Wifi connection was bad, it kept disconnecting or refused to connect. They charge your card a week before you arrive.

The best decorated hostel I've ever stayed!!! It's just like a music museum! Capsule bed is really comfortable and quiet, enough privacy. Location is really great! Close to bus stations! Really recommend!

I was put on 4 bed room. Room was smelling fish and there were 2 old dudes who literally just live in that room, room was packed with all their stuff. Blender, mixer, microwave…lol anything you can dream of. Stay away from this hotel for real.

Great location and great food around the block. The pods are so adorable, confortable and the customer service was great. The theme for the hotel is excellent, the lobby is a bar / stage. There was a comedy show when I walked into the building to check in, which was a pretty sweet first impression! I loved the show in the basement, the band was amazing and I had such a great time. They provide organic coffee and almond milk! Definitely coming back here!
