- Very accommodating for an early check in and late check out due to my flight itinerary which was well appreciated.
- I really like the hotel bar near the lobby and the bartenders made really good cocktails and were friendly
Think some of the common parts and parts of the room need some general upgrades.

We like the atmosphere at the hotel' the excellent breakfast, dinner in the resaurant... Thank you!
The room is spacious, very clean and has anything you need.
We did not find anything wrong. Maybe the distance from the city center, byt the quiet neighborhood was an important advantage for us!

We got a room at 14th floor which had a very nice view of the city and ocean. The room was up to CP standards, clean, comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety of foods offered. Hotel staff pleasant, kind and ready to assist. We received some very good pointers from hotel receptionist on where to go for dinner, how to reach downtown, etc.
Hotel is easily reachable from the airport - some 25 euro taxi ride. It is relatively close to A line of metro (10 minutes walking) which leads to downtown. If you need to rent-a-car, like we did, car rental is across the street, some 3 minutes away.
I visited two hotels in Portugal, and my experience tells me that you should deduct one star from the hotel ratings. For example, CP is 5-star hotel but does not have a pool.
Elevators get crowded and it takes some time from 14th floor to the lobby as it stops at almost every floor.
As in every hotel I ever visited, I could use firmer mattresses (I am having back problems).
People who like to stay in the 'fun area' will find this a bit distant.

The room was big and the beds were comfortable.
Everything was very clean.
There are no sockets in the bathroom for the hairdryer.
In the whole room there are only sockets at the desk.
The staff could be a bit more modern in their treatment, it's not a question of smiling or not, it all felt very 80s.
I was not convinced by the treatment, comparing this hotel with another 4 star hotel we had stayed in Porto Rivera.

The hotel has fulfilled my wish (when booking) to have a silent room, far away from the lift. The staff was very helpful and attentive. They even organized a special present/surprise for my wife's birthday anniversary - a bottle of champagne and cake!
Breakfast menu as for the 5 star hotel can be with a wider choice. I also would recommend to the hotel to contact GPS/Google maps service provider and to change arrival spot on the map in a way that taxi and other drivers can approach hotel's main entrance or parking straight from the main street but not from the back.

Location. Some staff was frienly.
Hotel room was old and outdated. The initial room they placed me had a strong odor of mold. The tub had a stain as well as hair in it. I asked to be placed in another room. That room wasn't much better. It also had a strong smell and wasn't that clean. The carpet was old and stained. I eventually became ill. Im surprised because this is an ihg hotel. This isn't a 4 star hotel. A strong 3 star at best.

This is maybe a 4 stars hotel. Not 5 stars. From the attitude of personal (not necessarily bad, but more like not-interested, disconnected) to the pretty much basic, same every day, breakfast, to the lost time with the elevators that pick up people from many floors (and there are 15 of them), smoking smell in the lobby during breakfast in 2-3 days (we stayed 4 nights). Our dinner there the first evening was average at best and we didnโt dare to repeat it. We have one of the good rooms, but nevertheless no active ventilation in the bathroom and no slippers (I thought this is a requirement for a 5 stars).
We announced before arriving that we have two important celebrations for us during our staying there (birthday and wedding anniversary). There was absolutely no gesture from the hotel about that, which never happened before to any other hotel. We are not after gratuities and our celebrations are important for us only, I get that. But for the hotels we are staying in these are opportunities to excel and impress and win their customers then and in the future. And it can be done easily even without spending a dime. Very disappointing.

Crowne Plaza Porto is a luxury hotel with incredibly comfortable bedsโthe best part being the comforter. The bedding was spotless and crisp. Housekeeping staff were very humble and friendly, making the stay even more pleasant. Breakfast was delicious, offering a wide variety of options every morning.
The only thing that bothered me, not just at this hotel but throughout my 14-day trip across Madrid and Portugal, was that the bathroomsโparticularly the showers and hard-to-reach edgesโcould use a bit more polishing and detailing.
