Chose Allerton for the location and it was a right decision, probably one of the best location in downtown.
We were given a room with almost no view, I did not notice though , if it was mentioned while booking.
Would have loved to get a room with street view.

My room was clean and large. The location is good. Right on Magnificent Mile and about four blocks to Lake Michigan and not much further to the river.
The walls were so thin I could hear the person next door cough, talk and snore all night. I found it very difficult to sleep. Luckily I was on a corner so that the noise only came from the hallway and the room next door. The curtains didn't reach together and the sun shone right on the bed. I had to hold the curtains together with a hairclip to keep the light out. The room was clean and large (I had a king studio room), but dated. The staff on arrival and departure seem to be standing around doing nothing, but don't help with bags or greet you. The staff on check-in and check-out were nice. The hotel looks grand in the photos, but it disappointing once you are there.

Handling of 'Damage deposit'. I left hotel at 9th May, today 18 days already passed, but I do not get my deposited $180 back yet. In my confirmation email dated 13/04/2025, it is clearly mentioned to back within 14 days and mentioned amount was $100 , not $180.

Location is great.
There is no door man to help with luggage, the reception is on second floor and there was no one to tell us that, another person told us that. We just had 2 cups of coffee per person/ day at the Room. No amenities at the bathroom and no water as well. For a 4 star Hotel it looks like a 3, Even 2. The mattress is old, too much noise, but pillows were nice.

Super convenient location for shopping. Right off Magnificent Mile. You can see Starbucks Reserve and H&M from hotel room. Accommodations were pretty basic. Clean but a little older.
My room was in front of an elevator, so we could easily hear foot traffic and conversations. Not very much sound proofing.

On the positive side, the lobby staff were polite and pleasant.
We did not have a good experience at the hotel overall. The staff member responsible for handling the luggage was extremely rude on both occasions we interacted with him. The room was very small, with an old and noisy air conditioning unit. The minibar was empty, with no option to purchase anything from the room. The fitness center was decent, but half of the space had no air conditioning. The hotel’s facilities are extremely outdated. I would not return to this hotel.

My mom and I came here for my best friends graduation from the University of Chicago! It was fairly close to CTA lines and the metra. We were able to take buses to get us closer to the other public transportation as well. It was a very central location giving us easy walking access to activities in the city, and again we were right by the bus. It was the perfect size for my mom and i, the two beds were wonderful.
The rooms were fairly small, definitely wouldn’t have worked for my family but for just my mom and I, it was perfect. It was a bit musty, could use new hallway carpet but what does that matter so that was no problem!

Nice hotel with good rooms. The table allows one to work if needed. Good bathroom as well. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is right in the middle of everything. A place to come back again.
The street is a bit noise at night. You can not open the windows.

The staff was nice and the location was good (except the hospital next door had ambulences coming and going all through the night).
Not a 4 star hotel. The room was tiny and outdated, much like the rest of the hotel. There was no tissue in the room and no extra blankets. I asked for both and received neither. The first room they had us in smelled musky and warm. They moved us up one floor, better, but still looking at a brick wall outside the window.

great location, very clean, loved the scent being pumped through the vents so as soon as you entered the hotel the smells of city vanished away. staff was kind. room was clean, comfy beds. bathroom situation was nice. quiet. a nice reprieve from the busy city. we walked to lake michigan every day! lots of nearby open space. honestly, we walked everywhere! we walked 12-15 miles a day for three days while visiting chicago.
close to a hospital so the ambulance noise was not great at night.

Big room and very clean with comfortable beds. Nice walk in shower with good water pressure.
In room safe to store valuables.
Bathroom is extremely small and toilet is positioned in an absolute ridiculous way. If you can't bend your knees it's impossible to sit on the toilet.
Hotel elevators too small for luggage, no help from staff on getting luggage to the room.
Valet parking badly organized, you first need to go to the second floor of the hotel to check in and then go back to ground floor to get your luggage out of the car. Valet staff completely useless and not customer friendly. You expect top service for usd 72 a night.

Nice location, the King bed room was spacious with a nice bathroom.
I had two successive reservations. I therefore asked to keep the same room to not have to change in the middle of the stay. The receptionist that welcomed me on the first day told me that this was not a problem and that even if the room was slightly different (double bed v.s king size) for the two reservations, I could keep the room without any additional costs. I was therefore disappointed when another person asked me to pay 30$/night to keep the same room in the middle of the stay !
Next to this the room was noisy as there is a constant air conditioning and water pipe noise all day long (due to the circulation of air and water for the other rooms).
