Check in was quick & easy & done in arrival
My bed the first night was most uncomfortable. Requested something be done several times. Finally I worked out the mattress was upside down. Someone came to turn it but did not remake the bed until I requested it. !! Comfortable after that.

Room was comfortable enough. Maintenance staff I dealt with was very nice and polite. Tons of storage in the room. Plenty of hangers. Outlets. Great view.
I forgot my phone charger and the cleaning staff stole it. BEWARE.
Checkout is at noon. I checked out early.
Check in Is at 3pm.
I noticed I forgot my phone charger in the Uber on the way home. I called them about an hour later. Many hours before check-in so IF there was someone going to the room after me and by some stroke of disluck they didn't clean the room, there was still no one that would have went in the room.
Called them. They asked for my name phone number. They said they'd go look and called me back. It had been less than hour, it had to have been there. I know where I left it, described the model and where it is.
They never called back.
I called back later same night, I'm now being told a different story. That I have to send an email with a description and they'd look for it (it was earlier that day! It would have taken them 2 minutes to go get it in the room!) "oh the staff is gone" "oh my boss isn't there" "oh the cleaning staff didn't bring it when I started so that means they didn't find it"
Cleaning staff is thief. Be very careful and beware. Expensive phone charger good quality. Gone.
Ps: weird stains on the floor. Came in to a broken bedside lamp (the maintenance staff replaced it when I called it in and was lovely).
Breakfast is OK but very minimal. Kinda crappy to pay for breakfast, coffee, tea and milk is included but a glass of orange juice was extra, 3.45$
Why punish people for not drinking coffee? It was box juice that cost about 1$ a box at the grocery store, quite the markup.

Room service does not happen unless requested 24hrs in advance.
Bath robes are featured prominently in room photos, but are not available.
Loft room is arranged so tightly against the wall and chairs, you cannot walk around the bed, but have to climb over to access one side. No towel bars in bathroom, just hooks, so your towels and washcloths don't dry.

The location and how big the room was
I slept their the night of the wedding, I payed valet for 2 cars to have me comfortable the next day not worrying about where I parked and how much walking I have to do. The next morning when we wanted the cars it took them 40 minutes to get them. We got so stressed giving it’s my wedding day and we were late… I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

One elevator is insufficient. It was often crowded and took a long time to arrive.

Great location and good natured staff under pressure
Truth be told- it was a great property when it opened many years ago. The owners have not kept the property up and it is very shop-worn - in need of a serious reboot.
My room was not very clean according to simple standards.
Love the area ( close to St. Catherine street and place des Arts and Chinatown. Time for a systematic renovation in the rooms. Only one elevator is also a major challenge in terms of safety and wait times.
It’s very popular so hoping management can use this opportunity this winter to affect major changes beyond cosmetic.

Centrally located in downtown Montreal.
The hotel sent two emails, both in French. Replied and asked to resend in English - crickets! No response whatsoever! Upon arrival (4:30 pm), checking in only to find the room was not ready. Had indicated on reservation that we would require valet parking, desk agent took my credit card and charged up front - no problem- but when he asked for vehicle details, he then proceeded to tell me they could not accommodate a Ford F150. No where in the hotel information does it mention vehicle restrictions. He told me he refunded my visa. When I asked him where we were supposed to park, he sent us to an open lot up the street where they wanted $65. for overnight parking. We declined, drove around, and found an underground, secure lot closer to the hotel for $45. which was what the valet parking would have cost us. When we returned to the hotel, we got a new agent who started the process all over again even though I said I had already checked in and they had taken the security deposit, etc. She then told me that I WASN'T checked in but could see the payment for parking and again asked the type of vehicle. I explained that those funds were supposedly refunded because the hotel could not accommodate our vehicle. She told me funds had NOT been refunded, but she would do so now. I asked for a receipt to indicate a refund had been processed, but she told me she was unable to do so. At this point, we just wanted to get into the room after a long day of driving, finished our registration, and were given room cards. We had seen people being directed to an elevator, so headed to the elevator and took up to our assigned floor, only to find the room did not exist. Back down to reception to find out where the room was located and were told we took the wrong elevator as our room was located on the other side of the building and needed to take an elevator on that side.

Finding parking was a nightmare for a truck. Staff directed us to a “free lot” next door to Starbucks that after 30 mins of looking turned out to be monitored by a guy charging $50/night. Finally had to park 1km away and walk back. Valet parking isn’t an option if you own a truck.

The location was very convenient for me. 5-10 minutes walk from St Laurent Metro. The staff were friendly. Can be a long wait for the lift. Room a good size. Generally quiet. Bed comfortable. Very good storage. Shower and WiFi good , as was the breakfast.

Location & cleanliness of the room.
We have stayed at Zero 1 many times, every New Year's, for the last 6 years.
Usually the room were great but this time our room was not so good. The furniture setup in this room was not modeled correctly. Plus the valet parking price had doubled since last year.
Also it seems that the beds pillows were smaller than last year.
We aren't sure if we will be coming here next New Year's
which is disappointing since we did love this hotel.

Bed was comfortable, nice sheets and good pillows. Bathroom was good.
Neither bedside lamp worked. Had to get out of bed to turn on or off. Cord way too short and tangled.
TV did not function at all!!!
Dirty full hand prints on wall size mirror. Not pleasant. Not a good room for visitors to our city. No view to see except when kneeling on the bed looking east on St Laurent.

Room #305 (two bedrooms) was quiet and sunny. But the door to my bedroom didn't shut and room service skipped our room the first day. I moved into #1112 later, which was great, but at 4am guests down the hall got into a physical fight which was so bad it woke the whole floor up and the police showed up. A man with a bloody hand was in the hallway. I did expect some compensation after such an extreme disturbance.
Windows had smudges on them and the rooms could use some painting touchups.

Nice modern design the bed was very confortable.
Well it was decepointing as the advertising did show some little kitchen area with Is always enjoyable when you want to avoid eating out. Except well there were no utensils available and as well I had prepared en entire meal for me and my date and had brought two bottles of excellent wine. But we were never able to open either bottles as they were bottles that need the bottle op’enner . And I had to go on a hunt for utensil late at night …
And finally the smoke detector was beeping just a single beep every hour or something all throughout the night so that was annoying and kept waking me up!
