It was a little on the pricey side, and there was no microwave. if we were traveling with our people, it would have been a good value but We really didn't need as much space as we were given. All of the rooms come with a separate bedroom, so that would have come in handy if we had brought the kids.

Location was perfect
The room was dirty, windows with the “River Walk View” was so dirty that you couldn’t enjoy the view. Basic items were missing in the room. No sleepers, No toothpaste, No sewing kit, No shoe cleaning kit, no boiling water in the room, no tea bags in the room, no free drinking WATER in the room and you ask for any of these items, they just repond like this “Sorry we don’t have that, here”. It is way overpriced compared to other competitors in San Antonio. I would never come back and recommend this place to anyone.

The hotel exceeded our expectations!
It was an amazing stay with a comfortable and spotless room. The hotel is nice and well maintained. There are several amenities and we absolutely loved the fitness centre and pool at the rooftop. The staff was nice and friendly.
At the checkout the lady at the reception was asking for a payment amount that was already covered at the checkin. Instead of just asking for the remaining amount, she wanted a new payment while the previous payment would have been withdrawn later by the card issuer. The manager then solved the problem and allowed us to pay the remaining small amount that was due, not again the amount for almost the entire stay. The easy way is always the most appreciated and I don't see why it wasn't proposed in the first place.
Anyway, I don't think this inconvenient would low the overall score. Well-deserved 10/10.

Unbeatable location on the riverwalk. Beautifully decorated spacious bedroom in a gorgeous hotel. Stunning lobby with bar and restaurant which was decorated for fiesta while we were there. Francisco was so welcoming at breakfast. Plenty of parking around if you don't want valet parking.

The room that I booked for my family, the drain specifically the tub was not draining properly. As soon as the water from the shower hit the drain, there was some kind of debris coming out from it like dirty fibers. The tub was then filled with water and those debris were floating. My kids had to step out of the tub. I think it took about 5mins for the water to be completely drained. Then it happened again with me and my husband. This time there was no debris floating but just water waiting to be drained.

Beautiful upscale hotel directly on the Riverwalk and in walking distance to downtown. Large and nicely appointed all-suite rooms. Rooms were clean and quiet with good soundproofing. Great bar and restaurant with friendly staff. Large Mariachi band on Friday evenings. WiFi worked well. Great alternative to the chain hotels in the area.
The room had a few minor maintenance issues, but they were fixed quickly.

Maintenance was quick to fix things.
It was hot. In the hallways and elevators no ac at all. In the room stayed 85-87 degrees. The door battery went out and the toilet didn’t flush. The tub was moldy.
Stairs in front made it difficult to get bags in.

The property has been updated and the rooms are large, very clean and comfortable. Plenty of plugs and charging units. The restaurant was okay. The staff was terrific. Valets were quick. Drinks were good.
After checkout and after paying in full I have been billed for an additional night and an additional night of garage charges for my car. I have spoken to 4 people including the young lady who took my payment and keys but “forgot to check me out in the system”. The waitress also charged me for another guests meal instead of mine at breakfast. That charge at least has been cleared. There is also a daily charge for parking in the Hotels garage.
Room service trays left in hall multiple days would be my only complaint if the $$ was straightened out.
Waiting on call back from management.

I didnt like that when I checked in, the lady then told us that the water was off in the hotel! Now I get things happen, but my issue was that I didn't get in until after 11pm and I sent a message to the hotel telling them I would be arriving late due to weather and no response back, not even confirmation. Also they had print outs at the desk advising the people at check of the issues. I feel like they could have communicate better, especially since I had sent a message to them from the same channel they reached out to me on. Also they lady said she was refunding the night (because I found another hotel); but as of now the charge is posted and no refund on my cc...

The Hotel and location was very good for downtown......Walking around the riverwalk and sightseeing was enjoyable.....
The biggest and most obvious problem was the amount of Homeless people.....Especially around Hotel Contessa....Was ridiculous and uncomfortable.....I realize some people have issues and drug problems...However, to spend Good money for a night stay at Hotel Contessa and at the various restaurants isn't worth it......Downtown San Antonio needs to get the homeless problem solved, at least under control....Personally I won't be back due to the homeless problem...Sorry if that sounds insensitive, I'm just being realistic.....

There was mold in shower. Upon check-in, we asked to move. They moved us to a different room and it had the same mold in the shower.
Getting charged extra for a “Riverview” is ridiculous when all you can see is a parking garage and the top of some trees.
They’re not set up so you can place your room service order the night before. Both times it was quite an ordeal to get something scheduled for the morning. We still had to wake up an hour early to make sure our order was coming because they made it clear they were just hoping someone would see the message.
In the afternoon, we popped in to get a drink at the bar. It took more than 15 minutes to get a glass of water and another 10 to get our drink. We were sitting at the bar so we were able to watch at least 10 staff walk in and out place orders, get their orders made and socialize while ignoring our order.

The location. The room was beautiful.
