The lobby was nice
When we first arrived, the lobby was beautiful and welcoming. A very kind lady even gave me a compliment, which made me feel excited about our stay. We were looking forward to enjoying not only our room but also the indoor pool, the bar area, and the overall experience.
Unfortunately, once we reached our room on the ninth floor, things went downhill quickly. As soon as we walked in, there was a very strong chemical smell, almost like bug spray, mixed with a damp, moldy odor. The carpet seemed freshly cleaned but was still wet, and the bathroom also carried a moldy smell. As someone with asthma and allergies, I knew immediately that I couldn’t stay in that environment—it was overwhelming and unsafe.
I went down to the front desk to explain the situation, but the response I received was very dismissive. Instead of an apology or an effort to help, I was simply told there were no other rooms available. The lack of concern or solutions was disappointing. I returned to the desk multiple times (at least seven) trying to get assistance, but the only “solution” offered was to send someone to spray the room, which only made the smell worse and more concerning.
At this point, all we wanted was reassurance that we wouldn’t be charged and that our deposit would be released. What should have been a relaxing vacation turned into a stressful and frustrating ordeal as we had to leave and scramble to find another place to stay for the night.
Even when speaking with the supervisor, Napoleon, I didn’t feel any real support or care for our situation. What started as a promising stay in a beautiful hotel turned into a nightmare because of the room conditions and the poor customer service.
This experience left me extremely disappointed, and I hope the hotel takes steps to improve both its room maintenance and customer service moving forward.

The hotel was clean and the restaurants were great! The location was ideal.
We traveled a long distance to be in San Diego to enjoy the pools and I was surprised to see that the indoor pool was contracted to a company that did swim lessons for children. Maybe this would have been appropriate to happen during the week but this was on a Sunday. The indoor poor could not be bothered buoyed and my children could not fully enjoy the pool because there were children in there learning how to swim. It was so disappointing to not be able to allow my children to fully enjoy buoy our vacation and the indoor pool.

I didn’t like the nightly parking fee, the nightly deposit fee, and thought the carpet in our room could’ve been cleaned or even replaced. A stronger shower head would’ve been appreciated and also 4 sets of towels since there were 4 people in the room rather than the 3 sets we got.

Halls and rooms show the age of the property. Lobby is updated and sleek but rooms have been overlooked on remodeling. King bed was a spring mattress and not comfortable after a few hours of sleep. Breakfast was a slightly upgraded from a standard continental breakfast but for a fee. Parking fees were pretty pricey at $40 a day. The view was a nice rooftop of the lower level.
Nice lobby and pool area with gas fire that we enjoyed. Sports bar area was a nice atmosphere and great food. Easy and convenient parking (didn’t care for the fees though). Starbucks in lobby was a plus.

The location was good for our agenda. There were eateries close by.
I felt like the paid parking and WIFI should have been included in the price of the room. I considered them "hidden fees" which don't sit well with customers. I had suffered a rib injury just prior to our trip and was in much pain. We decided to leave a day early because of the discomfort I was dealing with. When I checked out, I inquired about not paying for the one day we would not be there. The person behind the counter refused.

Everywhere you turn was a money grab and waste 45 min the day before stay to check in online and skip front desk to hae that feature turned off and makes you go to front desk to get keys and be told its 40$ a day for parking. Also pre-paid for breakfast vouchers only to find out it was just for one side of the room not the other side which was 16$ a person more for eggs, bacon etc. Overall was worth the money and all the up-charges were ridiculous. Won't stay there again.
