My suite was 225 - if you are lucky you might be assigned this. Nice and functional suite layout and big balcony facing away from the road. Nice mountain views from the balcony. Liked making my own in room breakfast and able to reheat leftovers or make frozen dinners in the microwave - saved a few dollars and time here.
Complimentary washer/dryer was a few steps away - and a fully equipped gym area as well. The hot tub was popular.
Everything was clean and UpToDate. Amanda at the front desk was exceptional - always ready to help and following through to ensure everything was good.
Within 5 minutes there are: an ATM, McDonalds, CVS pharmacy and a Discount Tire (where i had my 10 yr old tires with dry rot cracks replaced in an hour). Tucson Botanical garden and the City's public golf courses (with a great range and practice facilities) were less than a 10 minute drive.

Somewhat loud music in the pool area from 9 to evening. Would have like to turn AC off and open the patio door for fresh air, but the music was distracting. The suite was very spacious and the bedroom was fully separate from the living area. Did not use any of the "resort amenities." The kitchen was clean and nice to have some dishes for simple meals during my stay.
This does not have a resort feel- it is a hotel off a busy road. Good if you are passing through town and want more space than a typical hotel room.

The accommodations were too expensive for the property and the location. My room was noisy both from the street and the loud air conditioner. the staff was not rude but not friendly either and didnโt give me any information about the property when I checked in. Also, I stayed there for five nights without any housecleaning service.

I'm so glad I chose the varsity club for my stay in Tucson. I was returning from an overseas trip and really needed a comfortable, clean and peaceful place to recuperate. My room on the third floor was just perfect. Super comfy bed. Soft towels. Massive tub. Well equipped living spaces with kitchen. Staff were extremely friendly. I can wholeheartedly recommend the varsity club to anyone staying in Tucson.

I understood from the front desk that the rooms are under renovation. I've stayed here many times before and I could tell my room had been renovated with new, more modern carpet, couch, chair and ottomans. The bed also either had a new pillowtop mattress, or a pillowtop mattress-cover was added, and it was more comfortable. Other furniture, curtains, etc. remained the same. I had a one bedroom suite and it was large and comfortable. I was given an interior room overlooking the pool this time and it was quieter than the exterior rooms and had a nice balcony.
I would stay here again but I had the same issue as last time in that they do have a 24-hour desk, but they don't have full 24-hour service for other things. This time, the TV wasn't working when I checked in at about 5pm. Channels like CBS and NBC weren't working and said "subscription required". When I called the front desk, they said engineering was gone for the day so I'd have to wait until the morning for it to be fixed. Luckily, it was working when I returned from dinner so perhaps it was just a glitch with Cox Cable. Last time, my coffee pot was broken at 6am but the front desk said the maid service didn't come in until 8am so I had to go buy coffee. I still stay here because it's a good value for the money and a good location for my business. I just bought some instant coffee this time to avoid the inconvenience.

The hotel was really nice. The room we stayed in, was bigger than I expected. We had the kitchenette style. I loved the tub, very spacious. It was very quiet, didn't hear anything.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. I was very pleased. Mark at the front desk told us they were doing construction, but it didn't bother us.

the check out is way too early at 10 AM. When we asked for a one hour grace period, the guy at the reception desk made a big deal about it and then "graciously" allowed for 30 minute late check out. I'd understand if the hotel was packed, but it was empty (Monday in late August is a low season in Tucson). Overall, the staff could be slightly more welcoming to the guests.

Hated the street noise in the main bedroom. All day and night all you could hear is cars and trucks, very disturbing. Staff really didn't care. Thry started that next time ask for a room in the back but they could not guarantee it. They should have told me the noise could be disturbing. She said she knew about the noise.

Location is a bit iffy, lots of panhandlers and similar. The intersection also has a lot of speeders so it made walking anywhere a bit unnerving.

The blackout shades did not close completely and the street noice was loud and ended very light at nice and began again at around 4 in the morning.The speedway road is named that for good reason. If you are able request odd numbered rooms which face the pool area.
